H 49–53
Road haulage companies, freight forwarders, warehouse operators, removal firms, courier and parcel services as well as bus and taxi companies – for providers of telematics, commercial vehicles, fuel cards, tyres and insurance.
100,305 businesses in Germany according to Destatis, business register, GENESIS table 52111-0010 (reference year 2024, table updated 21 September 2026). Section H transportation and storage (divisions 49 to 53). We quote the size, contact coverage and price of your export on request.
Section H “Transportation and storage” ranges from taxis to shipping lines. Sales lists usually mean only three positions: road freight transport, freight forwarding and warehousing.
The statistics separate what everyday language blurs. A company that drives its own trucks is classified under 49.41. A freight forwarder that organises transport is subclass 52.29.1 in the division “Warehousing and support activities for transportation”. Many companies do both and are classified by their main activity.
| WZ 2008 | Official title | For your selection |

| 49.41 | Freight transport by road | haulage and transport companies with their own vehicles |
| 49.42 | Removal services | removal firms |
| 50 / 51 | Water transport / Air transport | shipping lines, inland waterway operators, airlines |
| 52.1 | Warehousing and storage | warehouse operators, cold stores, logistics centres |
| 52.29 | Other transportation support activities | freight forwarding (52.29.1) |
| 53 | Postal and courier activities | mainly 53.20 “Other postal and courier activities”, including delivery subcontractors |
Commercial road haulage is one of the few industries with a nationwide register that is partly accessible to everyone.
These 15 columns are included.
What matters for the selection is who decides on the purchase. Tyres, fuel cards and telematics are bought by whoever operates vehicles – the carrier under 49.41. Transport management software and freight exchanges are aimed at freight forwarders. Racking, industrial trucks and warehouse management are bought by warehousing companies.
Besides the large parcel services, 53.20 also contains small companies that run delivery routes as subcontractors with a few vans. If you do not need this group, exclude division 53.
A record represents the company at its business address. Branches, transhipment warehouses and depots of a logistics company do not appear individually. For territory planning this means: the site the field sales team visits may be in a different federal state from the registered office.
We offer a telematics solution for truck fleets and are looking for companies in class 49.41 in North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony with a phone number. Taxi, bus and courier companies should not be included. Please tell us the size, price and data status.

No. The number of vehicles is not a column in the planned export. For an individual company, it can be looked up in the public part of the transport company file.
Companies with a business address in Germany, such as a registered branch, can be included. For neighbouring countries such as Poland or the Czech Republic, we compile lists on request: EU and other countries.
